ORBIS Honors Flag Day with Community Event

ORBIS Donates Commemorative Flag to Local Fire Station

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — June 15, 2017 — ORBIS® Corporation, an international manufacturer of sustainable reusable packaging and supply chain optimization expert, hosted a community event on June 14, Flag Day, to donate the 12’ x 7.5’ flag that was installed in the ORBIS lobby to honor the country after the 9/11 attacks. Oconomowoc Mayor David Nold, District 3 Aldermen Matt Resek and Mike Miller, nearly 200 ORBIS employees and members of the community were there to honor the transition.

The flag was donated to the Western Lakes Fire Department to use at district and community-sponsored events. The flag may be seen at local events such as the station’s open houses, Fourth of July celebrations, Vietnam Wall events, military homecomings, annual pancake breakfasts and annual 9/11 memorial observances.

“The flag was a special addition to our lobby 16 years ago, and we thought it deserved a public, official retirement,” said Dennis Rooney, vice president of human resources. “We are honored the Oconomowoc Mayor, Aldermen from District 3 and members of the community could join us for a day that meant a lot to us at ORBIS. We are so pleased that the flag will be so widely used in community events in the spirit of patriotism.”

Named a top workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for the fourth year in a row, ORBIS is a family owned company that was established 168 years ago.
