ORBIS Features BULKPAK® Containers and Plastic Pallets at LOGIMAT 2017
With a load capacity of 900 kg, NEW 1200mm x 800mm BulkPak offers an alternative to gitterboxes
OCONOMOWOC, Wis., USA — March 14, 2017 — Today, ORBIS Corporation, an international manufacturer of sustainable reusable packaging and an expert in supply chain optimization, is featuring products from its European bulk container and pallet lines at LogiMAT 2017 in Stuttgart, Germany in Hall 4/Stand 4F70. These were designed in European dimensions and made for European applications.
“Our goal is to support our customers through reducing packaging costs and helping them minimize their impact on the environment,” said David Heer, senior commercial director, ORBIS Corporation Europe. “There is a need for this kind of robust reusable packaging in the industry — one that is offered in standard European dimensions and offers the benefits of all-plastic design, including cleanability, repeatable performance and high-weight load capacity.”
NEW HDB1208 BulkPak® Reusable Container
ORBIS is unveiling its new 1200mm x 800mm foldable container (FLC) design for use in the European market. Based on European dimensions, the HDB1208 BulkPak is the first plastic FLC of its size to hold up to 900 kg and is a reliable substitute for gitterboxes.
It folds when empty for return trips, allowing for more containers per truck compared with noncollapsible steel tubs. Its 1200mm x 800mm footprint makes it ideal for sequencing parts, as well as rightsizing part shipments for line-side assembly and WIP operations. The HDB1208 is engineered as a strong and durable container for heavy weight loads requiring increased packaging protection.
The use of plastic FLCs ensures reliable part quality and plant cleanliness, as an all-plastic material is easy to clean, won’t rust and prevents metal-on-metal part damage.
HDB1012 BulkPak Offers Standardized Packaging Option
The HDB1012 BulkPak is based on the 1200mm x 1000mm footprint and available in four popular heights: 582mm, 732mm, 870mm and 980mm. The HDB1012 BulkPaks are structural-foam molded in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and designed for a longer service life and lower total cost of ownership. This series of folding bins was designed to better protect and transport parts in global automotive and industrial applications. It offers logistics advantages, warehouse cost-savings and an environmentally friendly alternative to steel tubs, wood pallets and crates.
1120 x 1420 and 1180 x 1250 BulkPal® European Pallets
The 1120 x 1420 BulkPal and 1180 x 1250 BulkPal pallets are designed to store, stage and ship metal and plastic cans and bottles in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries in Europe. These structural foam pallets, when combined with layer pads and top frames, are used to store and ship unit loads within the supply chain. ORBIS’ standard beverage pallet portfolio serves many countries, from the UK to Spain to Germany to Turkey.
These pallets and BulkPaks are structural-foam molded in HDPE and are designed for durability and product protection. Additionally, these products can be fully recycled at the end of their service life, making it an environmentally friendly packaging option.
At Hall 4/Stand 4F70 during LogiMAT, ORBIS experts will be available to provide an in-depth look into the bulk containers and pallets and other products being highlighted at the show.
