ORBIS’ Headquarters Brings the Holiday Spirit To 30 Local Children in Southeastern Wisconsin
Annual family sponsorship program results in helping families in
Waukesha, Dodge and Jefferson Counties
OCONOMOWOC, Wis.— For the 2017 holiday season, ORBIS’ headquarters office partnered with the Christmas Clearinghouse Council of Waukesha County and Christmas Neighbors of Jefferson County to help local families in need have a happy holiday season.
These agencies match up local families in need with local corporate partners. ORBIS worked with each family to determine the needs and preferences of each child. The ORBIS Community Action Team recruited employee volunteers to coordinate with each family. Wish lists and tags were posted and gifts collected throughout the month of December. Children ranged in age from 1 to 17 and gifts were wrapped anddelivered to local families for the holidays
ORBIS also conducted several fundraisers, including raffles and jeans days, to raise funding for gas and grocery gift cards for each family.
Thank you to all ORBIS associates and families that supported these local families. ORBIS received numerous notes of gratitude for the generosity.
Additionally during the holiday season, several ORBIS associates helped the Greater Waukesha Literacy Council at their annual gift wrapping table at a local Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Brookfield, Wis. The council offered free gift wrapping services to all book-related purchases. It partnered with corporations in southeastern Wisconsin to serve entire shifts during peak holiday shopping days.
