Team ORBIS Exceeds Fundraising Goal for LakeWalk 2015
Raises Nearly $6,100 for Regional Cancer Center
For the tenth year, ORBIS
Corporation participated in the annual LakeWalk for Cancer
event to support cancer prevention, research and treatment programs at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. The 2.2-3.4 mile-long walk took place around Fowler Lake in Oconomowoc, Wis.
For the first time, ORBIS committed to donate $2,000 if TEAM ORBIS reached $3000 in fundraising and pledges. On April 24, TEAM ORBIS reached this goal and was able to secure this additional corporate donation, bringing the full donation to nearly $6,100.
On Saturday, May 2, ORBIS employees, along with their family and friends, joined nearly 90 other teams from the Oconomowoc community in the walk to support the fight against cancer. Surpassing their goal of 75 team members, TEAM ORBIS had 89 registered walkers.
Team ORBIS was one of the largest walking teams in the 2015 event and had 16% more registered walkers than last year.
Leading up to the LakeWalk event on Saturday, ORBIS organized a variety of team activities, including a jeans day fundraiser and a smoothie sale that that coincided with one of its on-site Wellness Exams for employees.
